WEA Course of 8 sessions on Fridays 10.00am to 12.30pm
No class on 26th October (half term) and 16th November
Taking Bruegel’s great painting, ‘Hunters in the Snow’ as our starting point, we will explore the limited palette of winter using drawing and water based media. As we discover how to depict snow, ice, winter trees, mist, fog and hazy suns in towns and countryside, we will also reference the works of the Impressionists and more contemporary artists who have been inspired by the colder months.
Students should bring all their own art materials and equipment to include; drawing materials, small sketchbook, media (watercolour, pastel or acrylic), own reference material will be encouraged after session 1 and suitable paper or canvas support. Jo will carry reference materials but will only carry art materials for demonstration purposes.
This course is fully booked; for tickets available due to cancellation contact
